The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies for the community.
SASSA will be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency stated it's alarmed regarding the large quantity of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your higher range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This really is due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no thoroughly functional office dedicated to service the area on a regular basis. The service level made for sassa status intervention ordeals a higher influx of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it tricky with the Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more resources to enable the servicing of all prospects and maximize usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
